Oh, Friday… I’m in love and you know you’re my favorite!
I had such a HUGE response to my first Friday Favorites last week that I have been so excited all week to bring you this second installment in the series! I LOVE FAVORITES and I love that you love them, too! My kids have learned over the year never to ask me what my favorite anything is unless they are being super specific because it’s so very hard for me to pick just one. I do much better with top-ten lists, for sure! So here’s this week’s favorites that I really hope also become your favorites!
I’m sure you have some AWESOME friends you need to send this to… I know I do! I do my best to send 5 cards to friends every single week so I’m always on the look-out for fun new greetings & designs and this card from Hello Small World (TX) is my current favorite! You’ll have to browse some of their other fun offerings when you visit their Etsy shop… super cute cards, prints, totes and calendars!
This cookbook was recommended to me a few months ago by a friend when I was mentioning how I was tired of making the same old AIP/ WAHLS meals over and over again. In the first section of the book, you will learn all about the Autoimmune Protocol–what it is, why it works, and which foods you should eat and avoid while on the elimination diet. Instructions are given on how to clear your pantry of questionable ingredients and replace them with healing, nutrient-dense whole foods. I didn’t really need all of that, but it has helped me when talking to others about the way we eat and in encouraging them how to begin switching over their diet. Also included are sections on food quality, a shopping guide, tips and tricks to make the protocol go more smoothly, as well as ideas for batch-cooking and breakfast, which I really needed more ideas for! My family has enjoyed every recipe I have made from this book so far… so it’s a favorite, for sure!
Favorite Himalayan salt lamp
So far, the only thing that I have actually ordered from Be Naturally Prepared are these OysterMax pills that help give Craig more energy. He is a big fan of those, but what I really have my eye on over there is this Himalayan salt lamp. This size salt lamp is perfect for a large bedroom, small living room, or office to neutralize the artificial frequencies of the electromagnetic fields created by computers and other office equipment. It’s pink, it’s functional and I want one.
Favorite Deaf Dog Book
This deaf dogs book really needs to be in my life. Today is the one year anniversary of our “gotcha” date with Luna so just seeing the book cover is flooding me with tears. Deaf dogs are amazing and I love that Melissa McDaniel put this together. AND… it was endorsed by Betty White…. I don’t know what else I need to say here except that this book is filled with the stories and photos of 78 amazing deaf dogs and it will make your heart so happy. Maybe Luna will get it for me for Mother’s Day???
So far, I own two dresses from Effie’s Heart that Craig bought me for mother’s day last year and they are easily my favorites! They are both made of the most amazing fabric that lays beautifully, washes well and is so soft. I love this jacket they have out for Spring… it looks to be super versatile and comfy. Yes, total favorite.. I just wish it came in more colors!
Tiny Yellow Bungalow is my favorite online eco-conscious shop and I’m in love with this toothbrush. You can buy just one, but the 4 pack seems like a much better value. They also have a separate 4 pack in a smaller size toothbrush for kids. These toothbrushes have biodegradable handles made from 100% bamboo and the soft bristles are made from a base of 62% castor bean oil. The wrapper around the toothbrush is plant-based and commercially compostable and the box encasing the toothbrush is made from paper (no tape or glue is used). You can use them as long as you normally use your plastic ones but they are much better for you and the environment. Win, Win!!
I was first introduced to the adorable plush creations from Riley Construction at Parsimonia Vintage down the street from my house and I fell in LOVE! I then saw more of her plush friends at the local Green With Indie Craft Show a few weeks ago, including these mermaid dolls that I can’t get enough of! Molly Mermaid is created from cotton fabric and wool felt. Her face is hand-embroidered. Her hair is braided yarn. She is created from an original pattern and stuffed with new hypoallergenic polyfill. She is approximately 16 inches tall and 10 inches from fingertip to fingertip AND I THINK SHE IS PERFECT! Don’t you want one?
I’d love to hear what you think and for you to swoon right along with me in a comment below…
