So many of you ask me for recommendations on anything and everything from books to read, to where I find encouragement online, to my favorite designers, to music I’m diggin’, to where to eat lunch, to….. well, you get the idea. Sooooo, I thought it would be fun to start this little series to end our week and push us into our weekend, letting you know about all my current favorites from the lou and beyond!
Since we are going through Financial Peace University right now (more on that next week….), we aren’t spending as much as we have in days of old, but this girl still loves to dream and find inspiration from pretty things whilst intentionally eating away at our debt.
First off, stop whatever you’re doing right now and go devour these three books:
They were my inspiration for our new season moving to the big city and living in St Louis. All three are a delightful read and will help you want to be chic in all aspects of your day-to-day life AND be intentional about everything from how you eat your food to clearing away the clutter and how to carry yourself well right now in real life, whatever your season.
I love paper and I love even more the idea of having a box of gorgeous paper products and supplies being shipped directly to me every month! I have been following Paper+Pen‘s founder since her original Etsy shop and I love seeing how her craft has evolved. Sign me up!
This olive oil carrot cake recipe from My Lavender Blues… Oh. my. goodness. I started following her on Instagram and have become obsessed with keeping up with all of her new recipes. The photos are gorgeous, she’s pretty funny, and the food is divine! I really want to make this soon!
Favorite Spring Dress
I first learned about Karina Dresses from Madame Chic author Jennifer L Scott. They are timeless, so flattering, and made out of very easy to wear fabric. I am so in love with the “Trudy” cherry floral blossom style/ print that just came available for Spring.
Favorite Hair Need
So many of you have asked, so…. this is how I keep my hair extremely purple in between salon visits: Overtone conditioners are vegan color-depositing formulas that keep my “mermaid” hair color bright. Or, you can add any of their “mermaid” colors to your natural colored or bleached strands for a fun new look. I love that they just added a “Bottomless Overtone” option where you subscribe to get your overtone delivered as a monthly subscription and get 10% off! Score!
This coloring book for grown-ups is from St Louis local, Creature Type! It is full of original illustrations of some of the dopest contemporary boss babes such as Tina Fey, Dolly Parton, Malala Yousafzai, and Frida Kahlo… Plus super fun, silly activity pages:
Beyonce Crossword Puzzle, What’s Bjork Wearing?, and Oprah Got You a Car Maze amongst others…. SO FUN!
I have been a huge Thimble Press fan for years so I was thrilled when I saw that they recently came out with this environmentally friendly confetti push-pop . Bring the party wherever you go and brighten up anyone’s special occasion with this fun eco-friendly day-maker! It smells like lavender, too!
I’d love to hear what you think and for you to swoon right along with me in a comment below…
